The Rice Lake City Council recently voted to appropriate $1 million dollars in city funds for an expansion and renovation of the current facility. The Library Board seeks an innovative, motivated and visionary Library Director to lead the upcoming matching capital campaign and the renovation / expansion.
Rice Lake is the largest city in Barron County with a population of 8,500. It is the cultural, medical and shopping hub for the region with much to offer in natural beauty and outdoor activities.
The RLPL prides itself on its progressive approach to community engagement and services and is a leader in programming for families and children. The top notch staff have recently undergone a reorganization and are eager to continue their great work under new direction. As a member of the MORE consortium, RLPL patrons have access to materials from more than 50 libraries. And with support from Indianhead Federated Library System, the staff at the RLPL stay abreast of best practices in serving patrons of all ages.
The qualified candidate will have 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in library services and management. An MLS from an ALA accredited university is required and the candidate will be eligible for a grade 1 Library Certification.
