This winter hands-on program offers a look at old-fashioned wooden snowshoes as presented by Storme Nelson, Executive Director of the Hunt Hill Audubon Sanctuary in Sarona, WI.
Learn about the development of snowshoes, their features, construction techniques, materials used, styles, old vs. modern snowshoes and then, weather permitting, we’ll go for a hike on Rice Lake.
We have a dozen snowshoes available (assorted sizes) — on a first come basis.
Join Us! Families welcome! You can also bring your own snowshoes if you have them.
