Collection Development Policy

Collection Development is the management of the library's collection. These activities include acquiring new material and discarding damaged or out of date items. The material is in a variety of formats: DVDs, CDs, books, etc.

Library managers supervise seperate library collections that fall under their expertise.

  Adult Services Manager Adult - Fiction Books, Feature Film DVDs, Foreign Film DVDs, Music CDs, Large Print Fiction & Nonfiction Books 
  Youth Services Manager Youth, Young Adult - Fiction & Nonfiction Books, Audiobooks, DVDs, magazines

 

All collection development is guided by the Collection Development Policy and an assesment of community needs. Patron requests are considered seriously.

  • Job Hunting Advice. March 16, 23, & 30 @ 2 pm. This series of information sessions will guide participants in job hunting, resumes, interview etiquette, and more! This event is FREE and everyone is welcome!
  • Pageturners Book Club. April 1 @ 6 pm. Friendship Room. The book club will discuss the classic comedy Cold Sassy Tree by Olive Ann Burns. It is a vivid portrait of small town life in the deep South at the turn of the century. Copies are available through the MORE system. No sign up necessary.
